Every Child Matters: Honoring the Survivors and Remembering the Lost
Every September, we join people across Turtle Island in wearing orange — not as a fashion choice, but as a statement of truth, love, and remembrance. Our Every Child Matters shirts were created to honor the survivors of residential and boarding schools, to remember those who never made it home, and to remind the world that their stories matter.
At Tuscarora WoodWorks, we design and print each shirt with intention. The artwork features symbols that reflect resilience, healing, and unity — drawn from the heart of our Haudenosaunee teachings. This isn’t just a shirt; it’s a message of compassion, awareness, and solidarity with all Indigenous Nations who endured and continue to heal from generational trauma.
A portion of the proceeds from every shirt sold goes directly back into our community — supporting cultural programs, youth initiatives, and events that help us preserve language, ceremony, and connection. For us, giving back is the most powerful way to honor those who came before us and ensure that our future generations thrive with pride and purpose.
We are continually humbled by the support from both Indigenous and non-Indigenous friends who wear these shirts with respect. Every time you put one on, you’re helping to keep the truth visible. You’re saying: We see you. We remember you. We honor you.
Together, we continue to stand for healing, awareness, and unity — because Every Child Matters.
